Eating more fibre may help to relieve your back pain symptoms by boosting your gut and digestive health, said nutritionist Dr Josh Axe.

Fibre-rich foods lower your risk of constipation, which can make back pain worse.

Fruit and vegetables are some of the best foods to eat for fibre’s pain-relieving properties.

Potassium foods could reduce swelling and boost your muscular and nerve functions, he said.

Bananas, avocados and coconut water are great sources of the mineral.
